Sepang (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Malaysian carrier AirAsia's first flight from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei departed at 10.00 am Thursday, carrying 338 passengers.
AirAsia's Group Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes said the flight had a 88 per cent load, carrying passengers which included president of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre in Taipei, Abdullah Mohd Salleh and AirAsia X CEO, Azran Osman-Rani.
According to Fernandes, all promotional seats for the Kuala Lumpur-Taipei flight services offered at RM101 (US$28.69) per way were snapped up within 12 hours of the sales announcement. He said an estimated 80,000 passengers are expected to fly the route by the end of the year.
