Islamabad,  (ANTARA News) - Pakistan`s military said Sunday the country`s ceasefire with India was holding and there was no military build-up at the border in the wake of the Mumbai attacks.

The military was responding to Indian media reports that India has cancelled a five-year-old ceasefire at the border of the disputed Kashmir region, as tensions grow over accusations of that the attackers came from Pakistan.

"We have seen reports in media suggesting suspension of ceasefire (in Kashmir) and movement of troops on the Indian side of the border," chief military spokesman major general Athar Abbas told AFP.

"As far as the official authenticated reports are concerned there is no such movement or mobilisation of troops. The ceasefire is holding."

Leaders in Pakistan have condemned the Mumbai attacks and pledged action against any group found to be involved, saying any increase in Indo-Pakistan tensions would be a victory for the extremists.

But Indian investigations into the massive militant assault on Mumbai, which left nearly 200 people dead, have focused on the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is fighting Indian control of Kashmir.

Nuclear-armed India and Pakistan have fought two of their three wars over Kashmir since their independence in 1947.(*)
