President to chair cabinet meeting


Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to chair a cabinet meeting at his office here on Wednesday morning.The meeting which is to start at about 10 a.m. will be attended by all cabinet ministers and other officials at ministerial level in the United Indonesia Cabinet-II.

At the cabinet meeting this time, the first 100-day working program and five-year program of United Indonesia Cabinet II will probably be discussed.

Concerning with the first 100-day working program and five-year program of the United Indonesia Cabinet II, President Yudhoyono was all along open to receive inputs from various parties, including from those in the recent National Summit.

The inputs will then be accommodated in the government plan of action to reach the target of next five-year development plan.Earlier on Wednesday evening, the president also chaired a meeting with coordinating ministers and a number of ministers to put the the first 100-day working program and five-year program of United Indonesia Cabinet II on a solid footing.

After the meeting on Wednesday, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Radjasa said President Yudhoyono discussed with the ministers about the proposals came up in the recent National Summit and to integrate them into a national action plan.

President Yudhoyono after Wednesday`s meeting also received Provincial Governments Association (APPSI) chairman Fauzi Bowo.

Fauzi Bowo, who is concurrently Jakarta governor, was accompanied by Central Kalimantan Governor Teras Narang, North Sulawesi Governor SJ Sarundadjang, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi and Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, met with the president to discuss various issues related to provincial administration affairs.

Hatta Radjasa said that at the meeting with Fauzi Bowo, President Yudhoyono stressed the importance of creating a better inter-island transportation system.

Meanwhile, APPSI chairman Fauzi Bowo said the role of governors as central government representatives should be more effective in order to achieve the government`s development targets.

Fauzi Bowo said the role of the governors would be one of the points on the agenda of an APPSI national working conference in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, in early December this year.

He expressed hope that President Yudhoyono would attend the APPSI national working conference.

Fauzi said many things related to provincial administrations to be put forward by governors across the country would be discussed at the conference. (*)
