Bandung (ANTARA News) - Democrat Party chairman Hadi Utomo said the party was leaving the cabinet reshuffle issue to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to decide because it was the head of state`s prerogative.
"The Democrat Party is not in a position to push for a cabinet reshuffle because it is the president`s prerogative, but we will remain guarding every government policy," Hadi Utomo said on the sidelines of the party`s regional working meeting here on Saturday.
He said the president had the capacity and knew the policy he had to make in the current situation, because the head of state had taken right measures and focused his attention to the state and national interest.
"What the president has made is right and true, and the coalition in the government at present is solid enough," Hadi Utomo said.
Asked about possible replacement of a Democrat party cadre in the cabinet, Hadi Utomo said there was no problem so long as it was made for certain interest in wider sense.
He said the process of cabinet reshuffle was entirely the presidential prerogative, and thus the party should accept whatever decision which is made by the head of government.
Asked to comment to a rumor about an enmity between the party`s cadres Ruhut Sitompul and Anas Urbaningrum, Hadi Utomo said it was not true.
"There is no enmity between Ruhut Stompul and Anas Urbaningrum. What Ruhut and Anas have said was not a serious matter, and both of them are getting along well," Hadi Utomo said.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Jusuf Kalla in Yogyakarta on Saturday said the reshuffle in the second United Indonesia Cabinet was President Yudhoyono`s prerogative to decide.
"It is the president`s prerogative to decide whether or not the cabinet should be reshuffled, so I am not in a position to comment on it," Kalla said at a seminar and workshop on Revitalization of the Muhammadiyah Movement in the Economic Field and in People`s Empowerment at the Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) in Yogyakarta.
Kalla said he did not want to comment too much on or react to a cabinet reshuffle President Yudhoyono may decide to conduct.(*)
