Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Constitutional Court (MK) Chairman Mahfud MD has praised the basic actions taken by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the legal field in the first 100 days of his administration.
"The basic actions taken to make improvements in the legal field are already good," he said in reply to newsmen`s request for his comments on the president`s achievements in the first 100 days of his administration.
He said among the good basic steps was the government`s determination to eradicate "court mafia" as shown by the setting up of a task force to do the job.
Mahfud said people should also recognize that it was impossible for the government to solve all problems in the country within 100 days.
House Commission III chairman Benny K Harman meanwhile said, in terms of law enforcement some improvements had been made by the government but in other fields a lot still had to be put in order.
On a separate occasion, Law and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar said the first 100 days program of his ministry had been implemented 100 percent.
He referred to among other things his ministry`s success in implementing the Visa-on-Board facility for Japanese tourists to the country.
His ministry had also appointed 2,000 new notaries public who were badly needed by the public, especially in various remote regions.
