Tokyo (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - A bankruptcy filing by
Japan Airlines Corp. (TSE:9205) could adversely impact small and midsize
firms, which account for about half of the roughly 3,000 companies that do
business directly with the carrier, according to Tokyo Shoko Research Ltd.
A
survey completed Wednesday shows that firms with less than 1 billion yen
(US$10.9 million) in sales make up about 1,500 of JAL's 2,910 corporate
clients in Japan. Another 10,424 companies do business with them.
JAL's commercial debts will be secured when it enters
court-led rehabilitation.
