Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Head of the National Police Criminal Detective Unit Commissioner General Ito Sumardi said Commissioner General Susno Duadji has the right to report the threats to kill him to the National Police Headquarters.

"There is a procedure, and we will submit any such report to the police," Ito said in Jakarta Tuesday night.

Ito said that if the former police criminal detective unit chief reported the threat by way of short messages (SMS) that he will be killed, the report will be followed up by the nearest police station, whose men will check and find the source and the person who has sent the short messages to kill the three-star police general after receiving a copy of from the Police Headquarters.

Ito said the police will help Susno if the former West Java police chief reported the threat and asked for assistance in tracing the terrorist.

"But as no such report has been received, the police would not take any action," the former South Sumatra police chief said.

Ito also disclosed that Police Spokesman Inspector General Edward Aritonang had already contacted Susno on the murder threat, and ordered the local police station to find out about the terror threat.

On Sunday (Jan 10) night, Susno received a threat by way of a short message (SMS) cell phone after he talked to the media with regard to his testimonies in the hearing of the Antasari Azhar case.

The murder threat went as follows: "Susno!! If you speak to the media again, you`re finished, and we know how to kill you quickly."(*)
