New Delhi (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Japanese digital imaging equipment maker Nikon (TSE:7731) has undertaken a major exercise to penetrate smaller cities and towns, increasing distribution channels, to double its overall sales and market share.
The company, which earlier had only one national distributor, said it has appointed 22 distributors this year and plans to add six more by the end of the financial year.
Nikon India Managing Director Hidehiko Tanaka said through this initiative, the company will be able to strengthen its presence in the Tier II cities and increase the retail points to around 1,200 across the country by the end of this fiscal.
At present, the company has around 800 retail points.
