Rome, Nov 19 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Boediono and his entourage on Thursday visited a small-scale ceramics industry at Dereto, about a one-hour`s drive from Rome.
Boediono, accompanied by his wife, Herawati, was greeted by Dereto Mayor Alfaro Verbena upon arrival.
Boediono was in Italy for a three-day visit, during which he attended the world food summit held at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Headquarters on Wednesday.
Dereto has a population of about 10,000.
Nearly 25 percent of the small city`s labour force is employed in the ceramics industry.
The city exports nearly 80 percent of its ceramics products to other western European countries and the United States. (*)
