Pontianak (ANTARA News) - Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro was scheduled to visit a number of security posts in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region in West Kalimantan province.

Head of the public relations and protocol division of the West Kalimantan provincial administration Numsuan Madsun said here Friday that the visit will be conducted on November 7 and 8.

The defense minister will visit Entikong and Balai Karangan, both in Sanggau regency.
The minister and his entourage are scheduled to arrive at Pontianak`s Supadio airport on Saturday morning from Jakarta`s Halim Perdanakusumah.

After a few moments of rest at the airport the minister and some of his entourage will leave by helicopter for Indonesia-Malaysia joint post in Entikong.

The minister will listen to an explanation from the Kapuas border security task force commandant on the condition in the border region.

In the meantime, the other members of the entourage will go by land to the border region about 300 kilometers away from Pontianak. Besides Entikong, the minister will also make an inspection of the tactical command post in Balai Karangan, about 18 kilometers from Entikong.

Later in the evening the minister and his entourage will have a friendly get together with the security personnel in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region in Entikong.

The defense minister and entourage will also make a short call in Pontianak on Sunday before returning to Jakarta later in the day.(*)
